Promises
A night of celebration ended in the wee hours of the morning.
Robert was unaccustomed to partying.
For the last ten years he was a husband and a dad, who mowed the lawn and took
out the trash. So he knew better than to get behind the wheel drunk. But he had
promised his son he would see him off to first summer camp. The dark road curved and the angle was very
acute. Robert’s eyes closed only once, but that was enough to steer the car off
the road. Robert never kept his promise.
