Trifecta: Week 105/ She hates Celery...Who knew?

Trifectans!
Trifectains, friends and visitors to another Trifecta Writing Challenge. The word this week is   Pluck - to move, remove or separate forcibly or abruptly. This week my 80 word story is called

                                             She hates Celery...Who knew?

Alice watched all the best cooking shows for weeks, even went online to down load the five star recipes for her first holiday meal. She was a newlywed and wanted everything just right, so she spent most of the day cooking and decorating.

When their families arrived she was nervous but it seemed her first holiday party was a hit, until she went into the kitchen. She watched in horror as her mother in-law puck celery from her holiday stuffing.

Thank you....

  2. Horrible woman! Cooking Thanksgiving dinner is hard enough without a meddling mother-in-law in the kitchen!

    Great writing, Glynis!

  4. It's things like this that are the reason why I don't cook! I know firsthand how gawdawful mother in-laws can be, but I hope your character didn't reach for a meat cleaver...

  5. I would've been so irritated! I hope the MIL doesn't make any comments about the bird being dry, or it could take them weeks to find the body :)

(I normally don't like celery, but cooked in stuffing it's quite yummy!)

A taste of her own medicine might show her to back off ;)

  7. I don't like celery either! I would be right beside the MIL. Still, that's quite rude...haha
